Simplifying Venous Leg Ulcer (VLU) Management

  • This consensus document, created from an expert working group supported by 3M and Wounds International, will help you understand:

    • The characteristics of chronic lower limb wounds
    • Why compression is the recommended therapy for venous leg ulcers
    • The ABC model for VLU management
    • How to select, implement and optimize compression therapy

VLUs pose significant challenges to patients and healthcare systems because they can persist for months, or even years, and they’re costly to manage.

Compression therapy is widely recognized as the key to VLU management, as it increases healing rates versus no compression therapy1, and helps reduce recurrence rates after healing2.
